Denver, CO – Today, Donna Lynne, candidate for governor, called on the Republican candidates for governor to all oppose the Graham Cassidy plan to dismantle Obamacare.
The Graham Cassidy legislation has been met with widespread criticism from organizations like the AARP, the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Public Health Association, the National Institute for Reproductive Health, and many others.
Recent reports indicate that Colorado would be among the hardest hit by the Graham Cassidy bill. According to ABC Denver, Colorado could see a reduction of $6 billion in federal funds used for health care between 2020 – 2026. And AARP reported that a 60-year old in Colorado earning $25,000 could pay as much as $16,982 more per year if they want to keep their current coverage under Graham-Cassidy.
“The facts are clear, the Graham Cassidy legislation will be detrimental to our state,” said Donna Lynne. “Speaking out against something that will impact hundreds of thousands of Coloradans and cost our state billions should be a simple thing to do.”
“Coloradans have repeatedly asked lawmakers to work together to address our health care challenges. Voters in our state need a governor who will oppose harmful legislation like this bill, and I’m calling on my Republican opponents to speak out today.”
